about me

"Follow your bliss and you'll know why you're here."

My name is Dean Bellerby, and I am dedicated to helping   others learn to live effective and fulfilling lives.  Lives of meaning, belonging and expression.

A few years ago I felt like I had "woken up" to find myself living a life that had just happened to me; one that felt more like someone else's.  Was my career as rewarding as it could be?  What and who was important to me?  What was I offering back to the world?  Why wasn't I fully satisfied, even though the usual standards of society rated me as doing fine?  And most of all:  who was I really?

This was a challenging time for me, and I felt very alone and confused.  Through much exploration (lots of trial and error!), I learned how to shift from living life without much thought to living an intentional life that is both satisfying and mine.  I realized that what I had to offer was the ability to help others through their own personal investigations, so that they are supported, guided, challenged and just less alone

I can show you how to learn to transform yourself, too, using my own learnings plus the methodologies I have been trained in as a Certified Integral Coach(r) through New Ventures.

Career-wise, I have 18 years of corporate and non-profit experience in four different countries (I am originally from New Zealand, and have lived in the US for 8 years).  This real-world experience lets me know what it’s like out there…not always easy, but certainly easier when you have support.

To let you know more about me personally, my view of the world and my place in it is formed in part by being a student of the Ridhwan school’s Diamond Approach, which is a practical blend of both Western and Eastern approaches to psychology and spirituality.  Other aspects of my life that contribute to who I am are my role in the leadership of Gay Buddhist Fellowship, my Non-Violent Communication practice group, my daily meditation and body practices and my role as a 'Big Brother'.  My intentions are to continue exploring what it means to be a full human being, a spiritual being, and someone who connects with others in my roles as Integral Life Coach and 'A Year To Live' group facilitator.

I investigate, for myself and others, not only what is true, but what is useful.  And what is joyful!

Contact me to explore whether either Integral Life Coaching or 'A Year To Live' groups are a good fit for you.
